Theme
Wave Generators – There are four main waveforms and they are fundamental to creating sounds (synthesizing). These four waves are: Sine waves, Square waves, Sawtooth waves, and Triangle waves. A waveform is a shape that repeats itself and these repeating shapes and values are determined by a wave’s attributes. These attributes include: wavelength, frequency, period, and amplitude. Together they allow us to hear different sounds with different pitches, harmonics, and timbres.
The design of the Bandstand will be a visual and audio showcase of these waveforms.
Through a linked project specific website, the audience will be able to access a collection of park and play related sound artworks collated during a community engagement strategy with Thornhill School and The Chiltern School.
The design of the bandstand will reflect its purpose as a place to present community based performance, music and art.
